MY GRANDFATHER WAS BORN 1904 WITH NAME EDWARD NEALE. SOUTH HAMLETS, GLOUCESTER. HIS FATHER WAS GEORGE NEALE. I BELIEVE HIS FATHER MUST HAVE DIED YOUNG AND GRANDFATHER BECAME EDWARD NEALE JONES AND LIVE AT LOWER TUFLEY, GLOUCESTER IN THE PARISH OF QUEDGLEY. HE JOINED THE GLOUCESTER REGIMENT IN 1921. PUTTING HIS BIRTH DATE AS 1903 AND NOT 1904 AS HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE. I BELIEVE HE HAD STEP BROTHERS AND SISTERS. HE MARRIED IN 1927 TO EDITH SCARBROUGH IN SOMERCOTES, DERBY. |
