George Davis1830 ish, was a customs officer in Belfast (supposedly) mid 1850's. He may have come from Angelsey poss Holyhead and gone to Ireland for work in docks etc. His son was James Davis born 1864 in Ireland.

James came over to England, when i don't know. He was my G grandfather. He married Minnie Preston in Manchester in 1892 and had a son George, daughters Vera and Enid. He died in 1919 and is buried in Stretford Cemetery Manchester.

Does anyone have any info on either of them? I am at a complete brickwall with both of these. I can only find James for definate on 1901 census when by that time he was married.

Don't know where to start with Ireland and the only other vague info I have is Drogheda, but this may not be true.

Any help will be very very gratefully received
Thanks
Karen Davis
