Sue,

I am afraid I don't know any more about him at this stage, to my knowledge he is the only member of the family who went to Australia, and he did return to England in later years.
His job was in wireless communications/telephones perhaps that is a clue?

Can anyone access the Australian Army records for Charles Leslie Hodgetts? A brit who was in Australia and enlisted in the Australian Army for WW1?
DOB 16/10/1899 Dodford, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.

Many thanks
