Hi, Looking for parents of John Mitchell born circa 1838 Midgley, West Yorks, he married Maria Bedford b 1844 Midgley, in 1865 Halifax.
Their children were James William b 1866 who married Mary Farrar, Susannah b 1869 who married Robert Greenwood, Mary b 1871, Sarah b1873 who married Mager Wild, Emma b 1875, & Ernest who married Selina Brear.
Any information concerning John's parents would be very welcome as i've come up against a brick wall looking for them.

well, you have and you haven't - you can find out his fathers name from his marriage cert.

Hi Minnie, Thanks for the quick response, I've got John's marriage cert here, wed Dec 9th 1865, but there is no fathers name, this could signify that he was illigitimate or that he didn't get on with his father or he'd died earlier .
There are so many Mitchell's in that area its just finding a link.Kind regards Derek.
