Wonder if you can find any information to solve a problem for me, and help me decide which certificates I need to order.

Trying to sort out the parents of JEREMIAH GODDARD born 1855, Finchampstead, my great grandfather. It could be either NICHOLAS GODDARD, b: 1815, or his brother JESSE GODDARD, b: 1823. They were both married to MARYS.

Know that Jeremiah married Henrietta Oliver in 1891.

What document will tell me for certain who his parents were, as this obviously affects which male line I follow back.

Ah yes ive had that problem b4..with 2 fathers and having no idea. Well Ill have a look on the censuses for you. Also, if you wanted to know which document would help you with this query; a marriage would help as it would normally display the fathers name and occupation as well as a birth cert which would display his name as well as the wifes(mothers) name..

Hi Sophie,
I am looking for my Grandmother Mary Ann Gorbell, in the 1901 census she was 23years old married to George Blake,and living in Bethnall Green, London. It states that she was born in Bethnall Green but I have not been able to find her on any record previous to that.
