	Did John have children by the first wife? If so buy one of their birth certs for the mothers name.

I have come to a dead end, i am looking for information on JOHN BATE possible born 1819 WARRINGTON. first marriage unknown. second marriage to PHOEBE BRADBURY EVES 1849 KNUTSFORD. occupation currier (leather worker). I have the marriage cert for john and phoebe but it is all but usless, as it has no age listed for either of them. I have a record for pheobe 1851 living in knutsford with her mother and son and think I may have found a record for john 1851 living as a lodger at mere. John's father was also john bate and i think his occupation was tiler or filer. after john married pheobe, they and their children are all called BATES. john's children by phoebe are JOHN EVES BATES 1850, BENJAMIN EVES BATES 1852 and JONAS H BATES 1856. phoebe remarried before 1861 census to GEORGE CORBISHLEY / CURBISHLEY and had a further son SAMUEL GEORGE 1860. Any ideas would be a great help. and look forward to hearing from anyone who thinks they may have a link. regards alison
