its for Mr John Dow. Of Falkirk.

Married Mary Dow in Bannockburn 19.6.1865 but i cant find birth date or death dates for them.

On census saying that John was a shoemaker.

They had a child James Dow whose birth date is 17.8.1870

Can anyone help me find birth and death details

I think John should be born around 1843
and Mary 1842

Are you sure James didn't also go by the name John, as father John in 1881 has same Birth place and occupation..

Was Mary's actual Maiden name also Dow.

Look at the address's on the 1861 Alviegal posted and the 1881 I posted, they are the same..


In Scotland the name Jane, Jean, Janet and Jessie Can all be the same person, confusing yes, but asomething you get used to...

Can't find a John with mother Margaret, its possible she went by the name of Jean or Jane.

Checking on the 1841 Census, I see John's (1847) grandmother was called Margaret.

I think somehow things have got criss crossed??
