Her name I think is May but some things have her as Mary.

Her marriage cert has her father as desceased.

You do have the correct details Sylvia(in Canada)

I have thought she might have lied, but I cant find her birth. I've also thought about her being adopted, but I'm not sure how I would know. Any ideas?

In a previous thread you said:

Is her name May or Mary?

what was her married name??


have you considered the fact that she may have lied about her age on her marriage certificate?

My grandmother was May Wilson I was told she was born in 1895 and died at the age of 83, however I've recently got a copy of her marriage cert which shows that she was just 20 when she was married in 1918.

I cant find her birth registered under any year between 1890 and 1900. She was married in Newport, but was living in Llanhilleth prior to the marriage. Her father was named as George on the marriage cert and desceased.

Am I going blind or can someone see something I cant. Suggestions or help please.
