Thanks for all the information. Williams mother was Eliza so the first census for 1871 is wrong - as you noticed. On the second Eliza was looking after the two girls after the death of his first wife. The other two I already have copies of, but it his first wife that I cannot find. There must be a marriage entry somewhere. I cannot find any entries for Alice or Maria either, which would show the name of the parents. Regarding 2nd wife, I have a note that she was an evangelist called Elizabeth......?? I wonder which one it is. I think daughter Maria married John Bell from Sheffield. If you should find any more information I would be very grateful.

I am looking for information about Lillie or Lilly Chester born about 1892 in Loughborough. According to freeBMD she married in 1926 to someone called Bacon, but I cannot find a record of this anywhere.

Also looking for the wives of William Chester (grocer) born 1848 in Loughborough, Leics. He married twice and his second wife came from Sheffield. Possibly his first wife came from there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
