I'm searching for information on my grandmother's half-sister Lilian Holmes. She was born Lilian Brown in Stockton-on-Tees 21 May 1892. When she married Alfred Henry Holmes 29 June 1912 her marriage certificate shows her as Lilian Fearnside (possibly adopted by her mother's husband William Fearnside after his marriage to my great grandmother Margery Walker in 1896).

Margery Fearnside died in 1916 but a year later William Fearnside committed suicide and my grandmother was sent to work in Derbyshire by Lilian and all links seem to have been severed. Sadly my grandmother died in 1964 and my mother doesn't remember the Stockton side of the family ever talked about.
