I am looking for any help with the Oiley's in my family.

In September 1841 my GGG Grandfather, Thomas Hill, married Margaret OILEY at Bucknall, Stoke on Trent. Margaret was aged 24, a servant and names her father as William OILEY, a clerk.

Margaret died in 1851 and in 1858, Thomas married her sister (I assume its her sister!) Elizabeth OILEY at Wolstanton, Staffs. Elizabeth a spinster aged 38 and father named as William OILEY. Elizabeth died in 1868.

I have traced the Hill family no problem but can't find anything on these Oiley's other than what is on the marriage certificates and the 1851 & 1861 census when they are with Thomas living in Hanley.

Can anyone find them or their father prior to their marriages?

Thanks
Sam

does the 1861 census give a birthplace?

To be honest I can't remember, I'm at work at the moment (bored so doing my tree!) and census images are stored at home. Ancestry sub expired so I can't check. I know she was living at Windsor Street, Hanley but thats about it.
