Firming connections

I have firm links back to 1851 census for Samuel and Martha (nee Groves) WEDGE of St Geo./East (my g.g. grandfather) Maybe the 1841 census finds them as Swage living in Back Church Lane ("It's Wedge = 'sWedge = 'sWage?). I can't trace him back any further. The first name of William figures so that might have been an ancestor's. A daughter-in-law of his was Jeanette Holbrook/Ratray. Does any of this tie in with your research? Be great to hear from you if there is information that you could share with me?
Thank you
