Trying to find my way back in the Quarmby line but am stuck on a John Quarmby b.1807 married to a Jane Lees b.811.
Their son John b.1837 married an Emma Hartley b.1840.
Their son Edwin b.1869 married a Betsy Brook b.1871.
They had a daughter Florence b.1891 who married a Charles Ronald Robinson.
Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Anne.

Ronald

Dear Anne,
Coincidence but I too am stuck on a John Quarmby, born ca. 1852 (my greatgrandfather). Census records indicate that he was born in Stalybridge but he doesn't appear in birth records for Stalybridge. He married Ellen Haigh in Dewsbury where he was working as a miiner so there is a Yorkshire connection. Unfortunately the space for father's name on his marriage certificate is blank (perhaps indicating that he was illegitimate as the father is usually indicated even when deceased).
Would you allow me to view your tree to see if I can spot a connection? Incidentally, the name Edwin and Robinson both appear in my Quarmby tree.
Hope that we can make progress in unravelling the Quarmby line.
Kind regards,
Ron
