So there is only one way for you to resolve this. A long slow trawl through the death indexes from 1919 onwards.

Once you've got Thomas' death you can work on from theat quarter looking for a marriage.

I can't think of any other way of doing it. It's going to take you a while to do too, but there is no easy route to the answer

Yes the youngest is Louisa 1908 I know there was another sibling named Florence but cant find her.... but Florence could of been the youngest born maybe 1904/5. The oldest is Alfred 1919.

Lilian died as a child in 1818

Had a look on that website but nothing.

Do you have any idea what year to start the search?

FreeBMD had the following births where surname is DORMER and mmn is Johnson

Surname First name(s) Mother District Vol Page

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Dec 1913 (95%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dormer Edith Johnson Aston 6d 854

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Dec 1915 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dormer Lilian Johnson Birmingham 6d 514

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Births Jun 1917 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dormer Margaret Johnson Birmingham 6d 526

So I suppose the search for Thomas's death should start mid 1916 (have you tried the CWGC website in case he died in WW1)

I would expect Rose to remarry as Dormer

Hi

Rose Johnson 1883 married Thomas Dormer in 1903.

Thomas Dormer was listed as deceased on my Nan's marriage certificate 1935. Cant find a death record for Thomas though.

Trying to find Rose's marriage to Collins not sure of the 1st name.

Do I look under Dormer or Johnson?

In the area of BIRMINGHAM please

Many thanks

Clare
