yes, & I was a transcriber myself but had to give it away sadly, my Hubbys' computer etc...

Wendy thanks for yours,.. your Humphreys obviously not mine or you'd have said. Mine originally from Horsemonden,Kent. Repeated popular names make things difficult too.

Hi Wendy,

I have some Humphreys from Bermondsey in my family tree.

Also the thing with Bermondsey is they changed the name of that area/district at least 3 times over the 19th century:

Have you looked on www.freebmd.org.uk??


It is still a work in progress as volunterrs transcribe all te bmds from September 1837 to the present day.

Theya re currently up to about 1920/25, and even into the 1930s in some areas.

Florence Ada, b.1869..Ernest b.1877..Albert b.1878.
Parents George (b.Horsemonden Kent) & Louisa nee Phillips,(died 1887).These 3 siblings all single in 1901.Ernest with sister Bertha Martin in Croyden, name mis-spelled as Hamphury,..Florence & Albert with Father in Bermondsey. Can anyone help with possible marriage partners & subsequent Families please?
It's said 'George' retired to Kent. A sister Alice married Mr Dawes. Any help here most appreciated.
