Sarah - if you go to Aylesbury R.O at ANY time and look for me I would be grateful.

All I have at present is that Edward Shirley b. approx 1806 in Oakley married an Elizabeth Andrew (born in Bermondsey). I suspect the marriage took place in Bermondsey. Next the 1841 shows the family living in Southward/Bermondsey, London and Edward's father Lawrence, then aged 60 is living with them. That's the extent of my knowledge I'm afraid. I don't know who Lawrences wife was, what other children he may have had or anything, but I do think that maybe the parish records of Oakley will hold the answer. Thank you so much for your offer. I will be going to Aylesbury - but it may not be until after Christmas as I'm a bit busy with other stuff at the moment.

birth of Edward Shirley born Oakley Buckinghamshire. I have his birth year as 1806 but it could be a year either way. I am also looking for the marriage of his parents - Lawrence Shirley b.1781 and ???? (sorry don't know who he married). Estimate the marriage would have taken place about 1803-ish. The family lived at Oakley, Buckinghamshire and in 1801 there were only about 85 houses there so it was a relatively small place. The local parish church is I believe St. Mary's. Thank you - keeping my fingers crossed that someone can help as I have exhausted all online sources and threads on GR and just cannot find these two folk prior to 1841 census.
