My Great-grandfather was William Arthur Stride b 4 Jan 1854. His father was William Stride - I don't know when or where he was born. William (senior) is not with his wife Eliza and the family in the 1861 Census. There is a Passport Application (No 952) 8 August 1859 for William A Stride. Does anyone know of this man, and can anyone tell me how to find out more about the Passport Application, please?
