Maureen

I dont live far from a place called Faringdon - the one very near me comes under Oxfordshire but it is on the boarder of Wiltshire too. Is there anything I can help you with? I will be going out in a bit but will check back later or you can PM me.

You can order Workhouse Records from your local Morman Family History Centre. Each film covers about two years and there is lots of family information on them. Most are also in alpha order so you don't have to waste time. The FHC allow anyone to use their libraries and are extremely helpful. the films take about 3 weeks to arrive and cost about $6 USD
Hope this helps

Mr Grendma Ethel Hicks has 2 children before marriage, both were born in Back Street Faringdon which I believe was a workhouse, does anyone know if records are available the years would be 1922 and 1924.
Many thanks
Maureen
