could anyone help in finding anything regarding my dad george raeside dob 4th may 1914. i am having great difficulty in finding the pieces to this puzzle. as there seems to be no record of his birth under the name of raeside. although i have found a john mckenzie born illegimate on that day at 59 glebe street bellshill.to a margaret watson mckenzie a grocery saleswoman.she was also the one who regestered him. then later a correction to the birth certificate of a change of name togeorge raeside mckenzie in bellshillparish church. then it gets really confusing as there seems to be more than 1 margaret mckenzie. the names mary robertson who married a george raeside poss the father.or they were the adoptive parents. although i have no way of confirming this margaret watson mckenzie married donald graham on 5th dec 1913. so could be lickly that she was expecting my dad when married and donald was not the dad. here mum was mary mckenzie ne reid and dad robert playfair mckenzie .george raeside and mary robertson married in 1912 could this be his dad and mary adopted him? i also have the names maggie raeside ne allanjohn robertson annie raeside james clark. although this is mostly speculation. i wonder if any one can shine any light on this. before i drive myself mad.
