I am looking for the 1841 and 1851 census details for; William Baglin m 1816 in Horsley Stroud, Nailworths Gloucestershire Sarah (wife) I am unsure as when they were born but i would have thought that it was before 1795. William's occupation was a butcher. Any help would be appeciated. Thank you for looking at my request. Shane

Thank you both for the information on the Baglin family. I think that you have found their children's baptism too. I had found a marriage for William and Sarah Gunter and wondered if that was the correct marriage. I am glad that you thought that it looked likely too.
Would you be able to give me an address for the 1841 census and any occupations please.
Thank you for your time and help. Shane

Dear Jen, You are sharp (excuse the pun :-)) to find William Baglin on the 1851 census. I think that he must have followed his father into the business. Downend, Horsley seems to be the area where most of my ancestors lived. Thank you so much for looking for me. I appreciate your help. Shane P.S Just noticed the marriage details.....thank you

Dear Alveigal, Brilliant. Thank you for the 1851 census for Sarah Baglin. It looks like you found my relative. I was hoping that as Sarah was married to a butcher she would have had some money to keep her in her old age but that sadly turns out not to be the case. Thank you for your time and effort. Shane

Dear Nicola, Thank you for replying so quickly. I am sorry to sound silly but was the occupation for Sarah or William her son? We have a family of bakers where the wife is the baker and the husband is a agr lab, so just thought I would clarify. Thank you once again for your efforts. Shane

Dear Alviegal and Nicola, Thanks a lot :-)) The death reference ties in nicely. Thank you for the occupations. In Horsley the women were made of strong stuff! I have looked for a Baglin family in the trade directories, hoping that they owned a butchers shop but no success so far. I think their lives were less glamorous. Take care. Shane
