Do you have his marriage certificate for his father's name.

As Angela says, unless you are sure Edward is his father, the Edward on the 1901 census is old enough to be his grandfather.

Hi
Yes I do have his marriage and am waiting for the cert to arrive.
I am not sure Edward was his father, but, if hes not it a bit of a coincidence, I need to find out where he was born, as it narrows the area where Edwards daughter Catherine (Kate ) was married, her eldest child was born in Tong Yorkshire in 1890. I have them ALL except Hector on all the census, and cannot find her marriage to William Johnson.
What is it about this family!!!!

And a marriage:

Willmore Edward Buckingham 3a 827

And a death:

Deaths Jun 1891 (>99%)

Looking at the age, it would seem unlikely that Susan (nah) was Hector's mother.

Hector cannot be Edwards granndson, as his first marriage to Rebecca Gibbard in 1868 produced 2 children Catherine borrn 1870 and Eliza whi died in infancy and Rebecca also died in 1874, the same year he remarried Susannah Mills. She died early in 1891. She did have a duaghter Emily who was with them on the 1881 census who also has disappeared, but she could heve got married

Could Hector have been Emily's son? You say that she has disappeared, Maybe Emily & Hector are together in 1891?

Mmm I haadnt thought he could have been Emily's son, although her name wasnt Willmore she was a Mills but did appear to use the name Willmore.
Darned this family, All I want is the marriage record for Catherine and William Johnson and it is not on Ancestry.
