Hi everyone - I am absolutely in awe of all the effort you have put in trying to trace this flippin' family. I think now we are going to have to accept that either they didn't appear on the census at all, some pages have not been transcribed or there has been a transcription error to make the surname unrecognisable. Thank you all very much for trying. |

Sorry Margaret, no luck I'm afraid. It looks like they kept the door locked and the curtains closed the night the census enumerator called round!! |

is spinning ! I have spent the last couple of hours trying to find the Dunn family on the 1861 census (went to a friends and looked on her Ancestry). I have them on 1841/51 and 1871 but cannot locate them on the 1861. They are Louisa Dunn, Head, and offspring. I concentrated on the younger offspring who I thought would still be living at home. They are Benjamin Dunn b. abt 1841, Ebenezer b. abt 1845, Isaac b. 1850/51. As they were incorrectly transcribed as BUNN on one of the census returns, I tried every combination I could think of on the 1861. I went from the beginning of the alphabet ie bunn, dunn, funn, gunn, hunn, lunn, munn nunn etc. but I cannot spot them. They have lived in the Camberley/Peckham area and are still in that area in 1871. Could someone please have a go for me? Many thanks |
