I have been told that my grandfather and family went out to NZ ? when and returned to England via Bristol about 1910
I have always presumed that it was my Stringer Grandfather but it may have been the Day side! He apparently was a watch-maker. I don't know how that ties in with farming!
I was told that they were in Gore, S Island and had a farm. At the time Gore was a dry town and the family received teaching from a travelling teacher who moved from farm to farm.I have not been able to find any proof of this and so would value help from anyone who can give assistance to clear up this mystery. Originally the family came from Staffordshire.
Thank you Sara
