Hi, I have a big brick wall and can not get passed it if anyone can help please do try, I am about to give up with line!!
Here goes, this is what I have.
Joseph Dixon, (ggrandfather)married my ggrandmother Charlotte McWilliams in Gateshead 1897. His Father was called James Dixon. In census records his age is as follows.
1901, abt 1872 born Carlisle, Cumberland, England.place of census Gateshead Durham, he is married.
1891, abt 1872 born Carlisle, Cumberland, England, place of census Stockton on Tees, he is a lodger
1881, abt 1874 Carlisle, Cumberland, England, place of census, 8 Saddle Lane, Caldewgate, Cumberland, England, he is living with his married mother Chatherine, no father on census form.
What I badley need is his bierth cert but can not find a ref for it, can you help pleasssse before I go mad!!!
Thanks for ready this its a long shot in the hope someone will have a better pair of eyes than me.

On freebmd there are four possibles born Carlisle between 1872 and 1875...do you have a middle name at all?

hi thanks for looking but I do not have another name for him, he is down as joseph Dixon on his marriage cert, Bachelor age 21 father James Dixon.

Birth registration wasn't compulsory until 1875......he may simply not have been registered
