trying to find more info about Joseph Cliff and his family. Joesph was born in Edstaston, Shropshire in 1871 to his parents Henry Cliff and Ann(e) Thomas. He had several sibilings:
Henry Horn b1861
George b1862
Kate b1865
Thomas b1867
Elizabeth b1874

Joseph married Laura Graham and they lived in or near Liverpool. They had several children:
Dora b1904
Elsie b1906
Hilda b1907
Charles b1909
Alice b1911
Harold b1913

Joseph died in 1918 in an accident at Liverpool Central Railway Station where he worked as a porter. I've been unable to find out the exact details surrounding his death.
Laura Cliff (nee Graham) died 18 December 1918 in Prescot, Lancashire.

After their parents' deaths it seems the children became Wards of Court. Dora was employed as a housemaid to Mr Charnley of Trafalgar House, Southport, Lancashire. Charles Henry and Harold (harry) became inmates of the Railway Orphange, Derby. Elsie was adopted in her uncle's (Henry Horn Cliff) family in 1919 and went to live with them in Carluke, Scotland, while Hilda was adopted by her uncle (Thomas Cliff) and lived with him at 3 Claypit Terrace, Whitchurch, Shropshire. Alice was sent to live with her widowed maternal aunt, Dora Shaw in Anfield, Liverpool.

I've no idea either what became of Elsie Cliff after her adopted family emigrated to America in 1924. Or what became of the other children: did they ever see each other again?

if anyone recognises any of these names please please get in touch!
