Trying to find info on Mary Ann Cunningham

Hi Diana -- this looks like your Nan's parents' marriage:

Name: William Martin Percy
Year of Registration: 1893
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Beverley (1837-1937)
County: Yorkshire - East Riding
Volume: 9d
Page: 194

-- a bride on the page is Mary *Jane* Cunningham. There's no other William Martin Percy in the general time period.

That certificate would give you Mary Jane's age and her father's name and his occupation, hopefully.

Good idea to specify geographic locations when asking for help, if you know them -- if the names are common, it would be hard to tell who was who. Is Yorkshire the right area for your Nan?

This would be that Mr. Percy:

Name: William Martin Percy
Year of Registration: 1873
Quarter of Registration: Jul-Aug-Sep
District: Hull (1854 Onw)
County: Yorkshire - East Riding, Humberside
Volume: 9d
Page: 193

Here's a Ms. Cunningham who matches up well with him and with your info -- I wonder whether the name on the marriage record was incorrect:

Name: Mary Ann Cunningham
Year of Registration: 1874
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Hull (1854 Onw)
County: Yorkshire - East Riding, Humberside
Volume: 9d
Page: 251

-- but there are a couple of other potential candidates.

I'd say the best thing to do is order the marriage certificate to confirm her age and father's name, then maybe find her in the 1891 census to check place of birth, then order the most likely birth certificate.

A p.s. -- at least it looks like I was in the right region -- this will be your Grace's birth:

Name: Grace Percy
Year of Registration: 1904
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Hull (1854 Onw)
County: Yorkshire - East Riding, Humberside
Volume: 9d
Page: 284

I am trying to find my Nan's family her mother was Mary Ann Cunningham and she married William Martin Percy. They had 5 children to my knowledge, Grace born 1904 and married Thomas Abel, Jane, Winifred, Honor and Joseph.

I don't know much about my Nan's family so any info would be much appreciated.

They lived in Hull when married, I believe Mary may have come from Ireland.
