Thanks for this information it looks as if the 1812 Richard can be discounted as I am sure the descendants information I have is correct

yes I have found this death information I am informed (by another tree member) Ann was only 22 at the time of the marriage and went on to have four more children one called Mary Clayton 1852 who she says is the half brother of Robert. No Father's name was on her birth certificate but Richard Clayton was shown on her marriage certificate.
Would the ages of Richard & Ann be shown on the church records of their marriage?

If Richard and Ann married in 1832 as on the IGI, then surely it will be the 1774 Richard, as the other one would only be 20 in 1832 and therefore definately not 60 in 1841!

Maybe you should get the death cert for the one that died in 1844 and see who the informant was, with any luck it will be his wife, Ann.

Here is the death of one of them, in 1844:

Name Richard CLAYTON Date 8 Dec 1844 Aged 70 Place North Wheatley Description St Peter & St Paul Denomination Anglican County code NTT

This one is too old to be one of yours but could be related?

Name Richard CLAYTON Date 4 Jul 1819 Aged 81 Place North Wheatley Description St Peter & St Paul Denomination Anglican County code NTT

Can you find a death for one of the Richards in order to rule one out?

All my information is of North Wheatley origins
I have conflicting information is there any way I can find out which Richard was married. I have:-

Richard Clayton (IGI record) christened 30.5.1812
Richard Clayton (IGI record) christened 10.11.1774

1841c shows Richard as 60 & Ann as 30

A tree member says the 1774 Richard died 5.12.1844 after which she had four more children

Another tree member as associated the 1812 Richard with the same marriage date all in North Wheatley.

How can I confirm the correct Richard?

I do not know which thread to follow back to look for ancestors. I know their son Robert Clayton 1834 married Jane Tock who are my gggrandparents is correct.
