I was looking for Ellen Cooper death 12/09/1953 can't find death certificate I wonder if she got married as there is 3 Ellens marrying in Stourbridge, Shropshire so these are the last names Hickman, Silk and Greenway is there any deaths with these last names can any one PLEASE help me

none under the last three names ,ive searched in the last 2 ..1/4's for each.. if the marriage is the 1913 one,,names greenaway..ive looked under that too and there an ellen but died plymouth

She was born in Wellington Sal, Shropshire 1885 and she died 12/09/1953 aged 67yrs old Cooper was her maiden name but on the 1901 cencus said she was of Feeble Mind so don't know if she died away from home in asylum or if she got married

You are very certain of her death date as being 12 November 1953....Where did that information come from?

Not every registration for a death made it to the GRO, my GGrandmother being a case in point.

On the 1st January 1955 my parents married and they took the bridal bouquet to her in hospital that day. She died in the week after the wedding but her death is not in the GRO index.

If you know the area of death then it would be worth your while contacting the local registry office to see if they have a record . However be warned some offices will not issue certificates for family history purposes...The 'now' London Boroughs being the worst offenders :(

The death is on the grave stone in Hodnet, Shropshire and I have the M I for there but the GRO can't find her either so did she get married or die away from Shropshire

There is a Nellie Cooper aged 67

JAS 1953 Whitchurch 9a/204

Nellie is a diminutive for Ellen.............

I thought I would let you know Nellie Cooper was my Ellen Cooper so I got the certificate this morning so thanks for all your help
