Hi Deb,

There is a slight possibilty that she was not connected, as some of the Obituary Cards seem to be very close neighbours or friends ...... but the vast majority of them are relations.

Thank you for the offer ......... but I won't take you up on it, at least not right now!

There are some of the early families where I haven't really bothered with sibling marriages etc, so I had better concentrate on those before I call for help.

I haven't really done enough digging myself to say I need help!

Thanks for the offer though, and for your help tonight!

If her death notice was in your bundle of goodies, then I agree that she's connected to your family.

Do you need a hand trying to link both families?

Deb,

It does indeed fit.

If it is the family I suspect, William was 2 years older than Margaret, and his mother Agnes was a widow and Farmer on the 1901 census, in Westmorland.

Now I need to connect the parents Agnes and husband Joseph to "our line" .......... I have already been back as far as 1841 on the censuses with Joseph but he doesn't seem to connect across!

More digging!

many thanks for your help

Deb,

Maggie Park and John park were travelling seperately.

So possibly Margaret and William are yours. Does William's occ fit in with census records?

Hold on. I'll view the original document and see if they are listed together. Sometimes, people of the same surname are grouped together but travelling seperately.

Back in a moment.

Deb,

They are quite far apart, that's the puzzle!!

I've only had a brief sub in the past to the US and Canadian records on ancestry 'cos I thought I'd only had one person (my great aunt) emigrate to this side.

This find was in the Mother Lode!!

Just looked at the UK censuses ............. the one I think is this Margaret has brothers John and William, but not Alen!

I think there might be a lot of digging to do.

She isn't on either the Manitoba or Saskatchewan Vital Statistics so far as I can see ........ but they might not yet be up to 1919. Nor did the Kerrobert web site seem to mention anyhting about cemeteries that I could see.

You're very welcome!!!

I can't say that I'm familiar with canadian geography but I get the impression that Kerrobert and Winnipeg a far apart?

The subscription is worth every cent!

Hi Deb

Thanks for that!

I think I have found Margaret in the UK, but I can't yet see how she is linked with husband's family, yet she must be some way.

The death in Winnipeg and burial In Kerrobert is also a little puzzling

But now that you have seemingly found other members of the family ..... it gives me a lead for checking Canadian censuses

and may be think of taking out a subscription!

thanks again.

Could someone with access to records of immigration to Canada please check when a Margaret Park entered the country.

I have a death notice of a Margaret Park dying in Winnipeg August 26 1919, interred Kerrobert, Saskatchewan September 2, 1919. Age 29 years.

(Why Kerrobert????)

She is obviously connected to my husband's Park relations, but was unknown to us before this.

I would like to know when she entered Canada, and if she was with anyone.

She was born ca 1890, probably Kendal/Preston Patrick, Westmorland.

Thanks
