I believe that all the 'Leeney's are related somehow - I have information in 2 family bibles relating to the name Leeney and Leaney. Apparently my great grandfather (who was a veterinary surgeon as well as an author) had a number of sons, one of whom was my grandfather, George Harold Leeney (b 22 June 1881). I think all the sons immigrated to USA but my grandfather chose South Africa. He was an architect by early profession, also having written a book 'Moderate Plans at Moderate Prices' on the subject, but here in South Africa he owned orchards in the Eastern Transvaal. According to the info in the front the book, copies could be obtained at the time from "Leeneys, L L Ltd., Pilton, Shepton Mallet, England" and "Genung,MacArdle & Leeney, Inc., White Plains, New York, U.S.A." I would be interested if anyone has any information that could help me to build my paternal family tree.
