Joseph obviously lived around the Spon End area of Coventry - five minutes walk away from where I am sitting now. If you google 'Spon End' you should pick up the Spon End on line website, which has lots of history of the area.

The courts in the area have all been pulled down now except one, but I could photograph that for you if you wish.
