Find Ancestors

Hi can any one tell me how I go about getting a marriage certificate from England for Elizabeth Julian and Thomas Rusden. I know they married 1837 Cornwall England. The birth certificate for Thomas Rusden born 30th May 1811 St Gluvias, Cornwall England.

certs didnt happen until 1837 - so there will be no birth cert for an 1811 birth.

I'll have a look and see if the marriage was registered - I cant remember off hand what time of the year in 1837 they started.

update - no its not

Have had a look at the IGI- marriage is there, but its submitted

If there are no cert before 1837 how would I got about finding out who his parents are or if he has any siblings?

You need a reference from a site such as free bmd, then you can order it on liner from the gro.
I have looked for your marriage and it isn't there, so it won't have been registered. The system was only just being set up in 1837.
The best you could do is to view the original parish records for the marriage. This will only show you the name of both of them, if they were bachelor, spinster, or widows. It will give the ages, or say of full age if they were over 21. It will have the witnesses, who may be family members, it won't have fathers names.
You can order the film to your nearest LDS centre in Oz.

I did know of Francis Rusden and Nancy. I think Nancy is nee Rollin on LSD site but I have not been able to find any record of them anywhere else. So I can not be 100% sure that they are Thomas's parents.

The Rusden's are a very big clan but family was never talked able. My father was the last of his family to die. I did know of some cousins but have found many many more doing tree. They are from his many sisters. But tracing the male Rusdens is near impossible. Starting to think they came from outer space lol.

No need Leeanne. My family is from Cornwall too so i've used the site a great deal. I am lucky that most of them seemed to have stayed in one of 2 villages back to the 1500's!
