It is a list of all the Commonwealth War Graves. You can download a certificate and a map of the cemetery. Just google.

It's a brilliant site.

Many thanks, I will check out the re-marriage. Yes the military details were from the marriage cert, I am trying to check these out. What is CWGC?

I have had a look at everything for you as I was at work earlier.

There is a marriage for Beatrice Rhodes to Thomas Moran in Jun 1919.

There is so many correct things in this search.

Perhaps the 2 regiments joined together as a lot of the soldiers were killed. This doesn't explain his rank. Did you get that off his marriage cert? Did he perhaps promote himself to look good to his in-laws. Anything can happen in this genealogy business.

I think it will be worth having another look just to make sure. Info on Freebmd and CWGC.

Perhaps I am misreading the information supplied. This would mean that the 'Additional Information' relates to a time period subsequent to his death and not at the time of this death. Is that correct? It also does not explain the difference in regiment or rank.

You will probably find that she remarrried after Abrahams death to a Mr Moran.

I think that they keep the records up to date as my G Granparents address on CWGC was not where they were living when their son died.

I think this is a coincidence. He was not in the Lincolnshire Regt. He was a L/Cpl in the North Staffordshire Regt. The information you gave me states his wife's surname as Moran formerly Rhodes. Her surname was most definitely Chadwick. Thanks for your help

He was born in 1894 and married Beatrice Chadwick in 1915 when serving with the North Staffordshire Regiment. The marriage took place in Stoke-on-Trent.

I am trying to trace any relatives, if he survived the war.

Can anyone help?
