my great great grandfather was James Mccreath - born Colmonell 1805 to John McCreath and Jean McTier. He had an illegitimate son Kennedy Crawford McCreath with Sarah Crawford . I am trying to get information on his death which some elder members of my family believe may have been caused by being murdered in Newton Stewart - if anyone has come across any details regarding this I would be grateful for the information or at least how I can try and find out more
