The problem now is that we are all going to have to start posting "you're welcome" or we'll look like the rude ones. ;)

After you, Alphonse ...

Maybe we need a blanket "you're welcome" thread we can just keep kicking back up to the top!

Thank you all for your help, after reading the poster thread I now feel I should write and say thank you, and that I did not know I could check the threads I have created quite so easily!.

Thanks again, Alison

Did she marry, Alison, and do you know her husband's surname if so? Or do you know her date of death?

It might be possible to find her death in the GRO death index, and then hope that the date of birth it gave is accurate!

Alison

There are two possible

Kathleen M Maiden name Kaines in the 2nd qurter 1913 Isle of Wight 2b 985

Or

Kathleen I Maiden name Brown in 3rd qurter 1913
Tonbridge 2a 1277

The last one matches but are you sure the maiden name is incorrect

my great Aunt Kathleen Ivy Wickenden was born in the 3rd June 1918 (I believe that part to be right), I have searched and searched for her birth records, but short of actually going to the records office I am stuck. I managed to find one, but it was for a Kathleen M, born on the Isle of Wight. but the mothers maiden name didn't match, as it was Brown.

Can anyone find anything different?, there are two places she could have been born, Suffolk or Tonbridge, kent. The only other thing I can think of, is that she may have been adopted or something as it was around the same time as the war.

many thanks, alison
