Looks like Mrs Pickering used 2 different names and the 1871 Census gives you her maiden name, because mother in law is living with them: |

thanks so much. i am new to this and i thought i found mary ann,s maiden name but may have got it wrong. hallam is the name i found born 1842 married henry 1860 (oct nov dec) in bakewell. thanks kay |

how do i look back pre 1800.do i have to go to another web site. i am getting hooked now henry and mary pickering are my g.g.grandparents they eventually settled in rotherham where their daughter annie married arthur smith, my nans parents !!! many thanks again kay |

many thanks for all your help re-:pickering family tree.i have been given a very old bible in which my gggrandad henry pickering has wrote his childrens d.o.b. its interesting and sad as many of their children died. thanks kay |
