Hi again lol!

I'm looking for Mary Newton (1836) in the above years. Her father's name was Robert Newton and he was a Sawyer according to her marriage cert. from 1857. It also says that she is from the Parish of St. John, Newcastle.

Thanks,
Clare

Does her marriage cert actually give her age as 21? Or does it say 'of full age'?

Which is the correct marriage in 1857?

Marriages Mar 1857 (98%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gold Stephen Newcastle Tyne 10b 72
Heads James Newcastle Tyne 10b 72
Newton Mary Newcastle Tyne 10b 72
Norris Mary Ann Newcastle upon Tyne 10b 72

Both Stephen Gold and James Heads have wives with Mary as their name

She married James Heads.

(I think I got her year of birth from a census from when she was married btw)

Thanks,
Clare

Where did the census say she was born?

Her place of residence when she married is not a true indicator..........

Sorry I haven't got her actual record on the census, I just checked through and I only have her husband and her son! However, I'm almost certain it was from the Sunderland area, as this is what's on my tree.

A possibility... Thanks :)

John Newton was a witness at her wedding btw...thought it may be a brother or another relation. Can't quite make out the other one..George Leslie maybe :S But I haven't come across that surname yet...although you never know...

Thanks

You need to find out for certain where she was born..............looking in Newcastle may be a waste of time......if she was born in Sunderland.
