Hello Tina,
Perhaps i can help you.
My father mothers maiden name was Cook{Ruth}.Her father was a Mark Cook born in Northcourt Berkshire 1846.
He was one of 8 children, the others were as follows.
Sarah E born 1837.
Ellenor born 1839.
Job born 1844.
Ruth born 1848.
John born 1850.
Charles H born 1853.
James born 1841.
Marks father was a Henry Cook born 1812 in Bisham Berkshire but before that it gets confusing as i believe that his father was a James Cook.Between 1785 and 1790 there were many named James but in various parts of Berkshire.Perhaps you have the answer to this.
Does this info help in your searches.
Await your reply.
Regards.
Michael Grout.

Hi Michael

I am afraid none of these names ring any bells as yet in the tree. I am looking for william cook 1796 born in newbury. His children were Amos Cook 1841, Ellen Cook 1845 and Esther Cook 1846 all born in Beenham. I am at the moment unsure of who there mother was until i recieve a copy of the birth cert for Amos. In a couple of the Census record Amos was named as Emos so this was confusing. Amos then married Charlotte May in Harmondsworth and moved to Brentford where they had 13 children.
If i find any connection with the names you have given I will email you.
Thanks for your help

Hi Tina,
Further info on the Cooks.
A correction on my last info.
James Cook was born in 1775 in Bisham not 1785 and his parents were a Barnet and Mary Cook.He in turn was born about 1750 also in Bisham.Only mothers name shown being also Mary.
Presume that the father had died or that he was illeg.
Does this help at all?
regards.
Michael.
