Trying to trace my Grandfathers family. His name was William Ernest (aka Ernest) 1919-1999 and sister Elsie (1915-2006/7) - both lived in Sheffield. Their father William Ernest (1892-1954) - lived in Sheffield his whole life I believe - would like more details if anyone has any of William Ernest senior, his spouses, other children his parents or any siblings.

Buy your grandads birth cert for both his parents names. You can then find their marriage cert which will give their fathers names and occupations which should then lead back before the 1901 census.

The surname isnt showing in your posting - can you add it please.

My Guess is Bradshaw

Check out freeBMD:

William E Bradshaw birth Dec 1919 Eccleshall Bierlow Volume 9c page 845 mothers maiden name Doman.

Elsie Bradshaw birth Dec 1915 Sheffield Volume 9c page 1158 mothers maiden name Doman.

William E Bradshaw marriage Dec 1913 Sheffield Volume 9c page 1169 to Elsie Doman.

William Ernest Bradshaw birth Dec 1892 Sheffield Volume 9c page 476.

Longshot, to be proved by certificates, but:

On the 1891 and 1901 census there is a William E Bradshaw with his wife Annie E who have a son Ernest c1893 living in the Sheffield area.

William E is c1870 Wales.

If you do a search on freeBMD for William E born 1869 - 1871 you will see in Sep 1870 a William Ernest Bradshaw born in Wrexham.
