If you buy her marriage cert you will see who the father is and what his occupation was. Take it this is the marriage? Go to GRO online and pay £7 for the cert using the following ref:

Marriages Jun 1844
CLISSOLD Mary Stroud 11 559
KEARSEY Edward Stroud 11 559

and why not buy her death cert which may help the query?

Trying to confirm information about my gt gt grandmother Mary Clissold. Died in Ipswich 1847 after giving birth to second child Frederick. First child Mary Ann was my gt grandmother. Mary married Edward Kearsey in 1844 in Woodchester. The children Mary Ann and Frederick appeared on subsequent census as living with grandparents in Rodborough (Samuel and Hester). Their father Edward was working in London. I have no proof that Samuel and Hester were Mary's parents. Also what on earth was she doing all the way over in Ipswich. Does anyone have a connection here please.
