Edith was 43 on her marriage cert. (7 Dec 1940) and a spinster. Her father John Smith was deceased, but his occupation is listed as general labourer. |

What details does the marriage cert give for Edith and her father? |

When you get the chance to check the marriage cert........make a note of the father's occupation then ask again for a 1901 lookup. |

I've never known an English marriage cert to give the bride's mother's name. |

I'm back to this one again! I have now received the marriage cert and death cert for Edith May. Her marriage cert gives her father as John Smith and her mother as Ada. |

No problem. It was fortunate the family seemed to stay in the same area otherwise it could have been hard to locate them. |

Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to look up information for me. I have ordered a copy of the marriage certificate and death certificate for Edith May. Hopefully this will fill in a few more gaps! |

Just to say that I have looked at the indexs from 1914 up to, and including 1920, for the death of Elizabeth K Scott (ms Peerless) and havent seen any likely ones. |
