Louise,

think I'll have to order Mary's certificate and see who the spouse was!

Many thanks for the lookup.

On the actual scanned images it looks as if Mary's on 6c 515, while Thomas is 6c 545

Sorry, nipped out... and didn't get back when expected.

Yes, it was Mary Swathe(s) also sometimes spelt Swaithe(s).

I have her in censuses as a single person, but not since she married, and I am trying to trace descendants as she was the sister of my line, if all that makes sense.

I think she did marry Thomas Williams because both Mary Swathes and Thomas Williams are mistranscribed on Freebmd as page 545, instead of 515, and I concluded that it was probably a couple who were mistranscribed.

I did try to trace the other 2 men in the censuses forward to see who they married.. to no conclusion!

Hence my plea for someone else to look!!

Many thanks for you looking, sorry I wasn't here to respond.

Is her maiden name Swathe(s)

This one is born in Martley district and is on 1861 and 1871 census

Could fit this marriage
Marriages Dec 1872 (>99%)
Danford William Worcester 6c 515
DANFORD Willim Worcester 6c 515
MACCREADY James Worcester 6c 515
Piggott Mary Ann Worcester 6c 515
Swathes Mary Worcester 6c 515
Williams Thomas Worcester 6c 515

Or she could be a Piggott

Do you have the marriage cert or how have you worked out which one married Thomas Williams?

looks like William Danford married one of the Marys

I also can't find on Ancestry the following couple:

Thomas Williams
Mary Williams born 1852, Martley, Worcestershire DIST (could be a number of villages).

They were married in Dec 1872, but as I can't find them, I don't have an age for Thomas. I have looked in England and in Wales...

:(

any time spent looking up, even if in vain, is much appreciated!
