Have you looked for their marriage certificate? When was the eldest child born and where? You can there narrow down the likely time span for a marriage - a few years before the eldest child to a few years after (to begin with) and look for the marriage on freebmd - buy the cert for £7 from GRO online and you will have the fathers' names and occupations to help you trace back the earlier generation. |
