Mygreat great grandfather was James Johnston Hay who married Janet ( Jessie ) Dalziel in Lanark, Scotland in 1851. My great grandfather Peter Seton hay was born in 1852. In 1860 the family ( I don't know if there were any other children) emigrated to NZ on the 'Storm Cloud" and arrived in Port Chalmers .Dunedin/ Otago.
1877 &1878 Peter was the first full graduate of Otago University and later became a notable engineer of the country.. In 1879 he married Mary Clark and they had 5 children ( 4 sons and 1 daughter) The only son I know of is my grandfather John Seton hay who was born in Wadestown in c 1895 I would be really grateful if someone could fill in the gaps.
