MY GREAT GRAN WAS A LADY, AND FOR 1 REASON OR ANOTHER HAD TO DE-NOUNCE HER TITLE, MAY HAVE BEEN BECAUSE SHE RE-MARRIED OR THAT SHE HAD MARRIED A 'COMMONER'. HER PICTURE IS IN THE 'DOVER CASTLE', I DON'T KNOW HOW SHE GOT HER TITLE, OR WHO SHE WAS RELATED TO, ANY INFO WOULD BE OF HELP.
HER NAME IS EVA ELIZABETH JOHNSON WHICH I BELIEVE WAS HER MAIDEN NAME, ONE OF HER OTHER NAMES WAS MILLER, ( WHICH IS MY GRANDAD'S NAME), SHE HAD 6 CHILDREN, WHO EVENTUALLY ENDED UP IN CARE, SHE WAS BORN IN 1895, AND MARRIED A CHARLES MILLER, WHO WAS BORN IN 1890,
MY GRANDAD ALSO HAS SCOTTISH TIES, ALTHOUGH I AM NOT SURE WHETHER THAT COMES FROM HIS MOTHER OR FATHER, PLEASE HELP ME..............................................

And when the eldest child was born?

Tracey

Tracey Report 28 Nov 2007 23:40

I DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY MARRIED, BUT CHARLIE WAS THE ELDEST DOB 1912, EVA DOB 1915, JUNE DOB 1917, RAYMOND DOB 1919, GEORGE (MY GRANDAD) DOB 1920, AND WILLIAM DOB 1921, THEY ENDED UP IN A HOME IN DOVER, I FORGOT TO SAY EARLIER,

Tracey Report 28 Nov 2007 23:50

I THINK MY GRANDAD'S DAD (CHARLES GEORGE EDWARD MILLER) DIED IN THE WAR, POSSIBLY IN 1921, AND HIS FRIEND PROMISED TO TRY AND LOOK AFTER HER (EVA JOHNSON/MILLER) WHEN HE CAME BACK FROM THE WAR, AND THIS IS WHO SHE POSSIBLY MARRIED, SO THIS COULD BE WHERE HER 2ND MARRIAGE WAS,

Hi Tracey

The gentleman on the commonwealth war grave site died Feb 1915 so If your Charles married end of 1915 then they cannot be the same person.

Just trying to find more information on Eva.

i remember that there was some discrepances when i looked up eva before, many many many years ago, in london, with those great big books that weighed half a ton, ha ha, but that was prob 20 yrs ago now, but when i spoke to my grandad back then, he didn't really want to talk about it, his generation an all, but i told him i'd found 2 marriages to her and he confirmed she had been married twice, i think it was prob too painful for him to talk about, which is understandable, but i had a chance conversation at one of those big family does we all love, lol, and found out that cairn's was 1 of her names, this is what my grandad's sister eva told me about their mother eva,

Hi Tracey

Well she had quite a bad time of it if her first husband died so soon and so young and then if Charles died as well, it must have been very difficult for her.
