In 1922 Emily Rentall and Arthur Ridler ran the Brown Bear Public House Greenhithe Kent.
The Brown Bear was demolished sometime in 1922 and nothing was heard of the family after that.
It seems that there was some sort of scandal attached c1921.
Any information on this matter or on Emily and Arthur would be gratefully received.
Emily Rentall was my great Aunt

If there were a scandal, try local library/archives and also do a google search and a search on the National Archives.

Looks like you may have a divorce - is that scandal enough?? Do you know if Elizabeth Ellis was your Arthurs wife? Do you reckon this is them?
