Thank you Deb for taking the time to look for me.
I have been trying to find info on Emma Ball for years, but keep drawing a blank.

My feeling is that they married in NJ as I have found what I think is Thomas Highet on a passenger list from Scotland - no Emma with him.
It is all very frustrating.

Thanks again
Joy

Sorry Joy,

There's nothing obvious showing in England and Wales marriages. I tried varient spelling of Highet but still drew a blank.

Hi
Would it be possible for someone to look up a marriage for me
Thomas Highet born 1859 in Kilmarnock Scotland to Emma Ball-sorry no info on Emma.
I have searched Scottish records-no marriage recorded
I know that in 1889 they lived in New Jersery, USA and they had a daughter Lavinia then.
GR members have already looked for a marriage in New Jersey and found no record.
A GR member found a Thomas Highet in the New Jersey directory 1890-91-location2: 315 Jersey, Harrison, he was a stonecutter-I think this is my Thomas
I also know that Thomas remarried in Scotland in 1900, he was a widow then.
Maybe they married in England, Wales or Ireland.
The daughter Lavinia was back in Kilmarnock, living with her Highet grandparents in the 1901 census.

I know this is a long shot, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Joy
