Find Ancestors

I am trying to find some information on a Laurence George Charles Turner who is my grandfather, also known as George Laurence Charles Turner and Laurie Turner. I know that he was born in October 1919 or October 1920 but I am not sure in England

Any help would be appreciated.

Narrows it down a bit, anyhow!

One thing Tanja must surely know is whom her Mr. Turner married ... since that person was her grandmother. Maybe she'll tell us, along with some indication of the timeframe.

He married my grandmother who is Jane Aileen Godden (born 1924) not sure when they got married but they had their first child who is my father in 1950. They lived in England and then came to Australia in 1964. If you need any more information on children's names, please let me know. I have no idea when he was born or where he was born. I think he was born in England somewhere

Actually he married Gladys Aileen (or Eileen) Godden (my mother) who changed her name to Jane. Sorry Tanja but i just had to correct that.
It's like looking for a needle in a haystack looking for info on him though.

If you guys have the marriage certificate for George/Laurie and Gladys/Jane, doesn't it have his age and his father's name on it?

If you don't have it, time to start digging through the GRO index!

We don't have a marriage certificate for Laurence Turner / Jane Godden.

On my father's birth certificate his mother's name is Jane Aileen Godden not Gladys Eileen Godden (that was her name before she married my father's father) but she changed it to Jane Aileen Godden
