Look first for the death......then the matching birth

You will have to buy the birth cert to find out the names of the parents.

I feel certain you will find it impossible to look for a birth if you don't know the name. There are quite a few McDermotts born in that area in Q4 1902 and Q1 1903. How will you know which is yours?

Can anyone please look up Birth/death registers for me. I am trying to find info about a baby born in 1902. I have no record of name or sex but would dearly love to give this little child an identity.
His/her parents were Hugh(Hubert) and Catherine McDermott from Brandon, Co.Durham. They had 11 children, including Jane b.1900 and Philip b,1904 (my grandfather). On 1st December 1902 they had a baby who died the same day. Although I have these details there is no name. Can somebody help me fill in this sad little gap in my tree?
They may have been living in the parish of StPatrick, Langley Moor at the time.
