Many thanks for that, yes it's possible that it's him, without your help I wouldn't have a clue where Bulkington was.
I had a look at the wfhs, can I ask what a removal order is.

Unfortunately I can't find him in the IGI search.

The 1841 census, I've seen and think that there is a strong possibility that it might be him, but without knowing his mothers name I can't be certain. He dosen't appear on any more census until 1871 in the channel islands after he had left the army (until then he was posted overseas) with his wife and children and no hint to his origins other than born in England.

I just discovered that my great great grandfather came from Bedworth. Never knew anything about him other than he was born in England. The census records show conflicting birthdates. I have just seen his army records at the national archives and gained the following information

William Holding
Born 1820/21
Bedworth

Would it be possible for someone to have a look at the baptism records for me.
